Legendary American new wave group Devo are set to re-visit their past by performing their debut album in its entirety for the very first time.
Hailing from Akron, Ohio Devo brought a surrealist spirit to rock ‘n’ roll. At a time when rock music was growing ever more serious, staid and ultimately predictable Devo opened up many doors of opportunity.
Their 1977 album ‘Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo’ is possibly the only album in history to be inspired by both The Rolling Stones and bizarre theories of evolution.
A hugely influential work, the album remains the work most intricately associated with the band. Devo will perform the album in its entirety at an upcoming ‘Don’t Look Back’ event.
Asking some truly world class performers to revisit their classic material, Don’t Look Back have scored a number of coups in recent years notably arranging for Public Enemy to play their seminal classic ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’.
Devo will perform the album in its entirety on May 6th at the Kentish Town Forum. Two days later the band will tread the board at the festival ‘ATP: The Fans Strike Back’ in the Butlins Holiday Centre, Minehead.
