Californian singer Devendra Banhart has cancelled a series of shows after breaking his leg.
Devendra Banhart is one of the most unusual singers of his generation. For years the wyrd folk star operated on the margins, recording his songs on friends’ answering machines during impromptu phone calls.
Since then, Devendra Banhart has become a cult proposition. Dating movie stars and releasing acclaimed albums, the Calfornian singer returned last year with ‘What Will We Be’ – perhaps his most assured material to date.
Currently touring across the United States with his band The Grogs, Devendra Banhart has been forced to pull a host of shows. In a statement on his website the singer explained that he has broken his leg skateboarding.
