Newcastle’s up and coming indie six piece Detroit Social Club have been added to the ongoing tour by Twisted Wheel.
Detroit Social Club emerged last year on the back of a series of sensational gigs, culminating in the release of limited edition debut single ‘Rivers And Rainbows’. Becoming adept at re-creating their raucous live sound in the studio, their second release ‘Sunshine People’ followed earlier this year.
The band blend the post-punk experiments of Gang Of Four and Wire with the frenetic Detroit garage sound of The Gories. Loud and in your face, Detroit Social Club are also capable of moments of tenderness, with their songwriting improving with each passing day.
Detroit Social Club are currently planning to record their debut album over the summer, but for fans who just can’t wait that long the band have uploaded a live version of ‘Forever Wonderland’ onto their official site.
The group are set to join Twisted Wheel on their upcoming tour. The Oldham group were stunned when Oasis asked them to come along on a couple of summer dates, only to find they were participating in one of the biggest stadium tours to hit Britain in some time.
