Festival season is upon us! The weather has finally cleared and with it the prospect of another summer of knock out festivals beckons. Among those that are occurring over the next few weeks is Manchester’s Parklife Weekender festival.
Taking place at Platt Fields Park on 9th and 10th June, this year’s festival features The Flaming Lips, Dizzee Rascal, Justice, Nero, Maya Jane-Coles, Crystal Castles, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Azealia Banks, Django Django and Ghostpoet as well as Crosstown Rebels and Hospital Record showcases, with Metropolis, Now Wave and Chibuku hosting their own arenas and a host of other bands, DJs and acts.
If that wasn’t enough to match your sonic appetite, beer brand Desperados have also entered the fray, and will be planting a firm two feet in the Manchester soil in the form of their aptly titled stage the ‘Desperados Factory’.
As the name suggests, this will not be a one-dimensional affair and the organisers have planned on a feast of entertainment both inside and outside the tent, including DJ sets from some big names, acrobats, breakdance crews, skaters, plus some ‘unexpected twists’, including a performance from the phenomenon which is the Underground Rebel Bingo Club, and of course the odd free sample.
The factory will be open all weekend at Parklife and if you haven’t yet got your tickets, you can still get hold of a pair by entering our competition here.
