Atlanta based indie outfit Deerhunter have confirmed plans for a short British tour in March.
Hugely respected, Deerhunter took time off last year to complete solo projects. Bradford Cox launched Atlas Sound, releasing a frankly stunning debut album which scooped critical acclaim earlier this year.
Collaborating with different groups, The Atlanta six piece are set to reconvene for their new album. Due to be released later this month, Deerhunter’s new album ‘Halcyon Digest’ is eagerly awaited by fans.
Little has been heard from the album, with Deerhunter set to unleash the new material on September 27th. As a special preview for fans, the Atlanta band have offered up a free download from the new album.
Taken from ‘Halcyon Digest’ the new track ‘Revival’ is a typically forward thinking piece of indie rock. To grab your copy, click HERE.
Meanwhile, Deerhunter have confirmed a total of six very rare shows across Britain and Ireland. Due to take place in March 2011, the shows will kick start in Dublin’s Button Factory early next year.
Taking in dates in Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds and more the tour will finish in London on March 31st. Set to play the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, the short run of dates will see Deerhunter play tracks from ‘Halcyon Digest’.
The new tour is one of the first major live undertaking by Deerhunter since last year’s series of joint shows with No Age and Dan Deacon. With plenty of new material to draw on, the dates have caused an immediate stir with fans.
Tickets for the forthcoming shows are set to go on sale shortly.
