Dananananaykroyd Secret Shows

Not so secret anymore

Scottish fight pop outfit Dananananaykroyd are to hit the road for three secret shows.

Famed for their live show, Dananananaykroyd finally released their debut album in 2008. Signed to Best Before, ‘Hey Everyone’ demonstrated that their was much more to the band than onstage comedy.

Knuckling down to focus on their songwriting, Dananananaykroyd triumphantly toured the world last year playing everywhere from Dundee (Scotland) to Perth (Australia).

Taking time off to work on new material, the Scottish fight pop outfit now have the problematic second album in their sights. With plenty of new songs up their sleeves, Dananananaykroyd are now planning to play three low key shows.

Using the name ‘The Sissy Hits’ the group will perform in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Flexing their live muscles, this represents the band’s first opportunity to showcase their new material.

Planning to play a series of festivals this summer, Dananananaykroyd are eager to road test new material before recording begins in Autumn. “We wanted to play our new songs to people and get a great feel for them before recording them in a studio atmosphere” explained singer Calum Gunn.

“We had the benefit of a couple of years feeling our way through the songs on the first album, so we thought playing a few shows under a different name would be a great way to play a set of new ones, rather than a ‘proper’ Dananananaykroyd set.”

Due to perform at RockNess, Hevy Festival and a few more live appearances will be kept to a minimum as the group adjust to the new material.

Dananananaykroyd have confirmed the following shows:

May
28 London Lexington
29 Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach
30 Manchester The Corner
