Dananananaykroyd are set to play a series of UK shows after announcing a tour for Autumn.
Following the release of debut album ‘Hey Everyone!’ Dananananaykroyd packed their tour van and set off around the world. The Glasgow group played countless shows, completing a schedule which took them as far away as Australia.
Not bad going for a band on a tiny indie label. Opting to self-release their new album ‘There Is A Way’ the group recently spoke to ClashMusic about their live plans and admitted that they didn’t want to tour on that scale again.
“We did too much touring on the first record” said John Baillie Jr. “We toured ourselves into getting an album deal, then we toured afterwards. We toured with anyone, did everything we could to get the music out there. We kind of saturated it a bit, so it was important to us to go away and let people miss us. Or something!”
That interview took place in March. Since then, the six piece have completed a British tour, travelled to the continent and played countless festivals around Europe. Scale things down? Makes you wonder what Dananananaykroyd could achieve if they felt in the mood for some actual, proper touring.
Set to play a number of headline dates later this summer, the Glasgow band have now confirmed their Autumn plans: yep, more touring.
Opening in Glasgow on October 29th, the tour continues with shows in Manchester, Leicester and more. Moving around the country, Dananananaykroyd will end the tour in Newcaslte on November 12th.
