Meanwhile, New Zealand group Crowded House are set to perform one of their first dates after coming out of retirement. The band will trawl through their back catalogue, finding some classic songs.
Neil Finn comments, “This is a day that I wouldn’t want to miss for all the tea in China. I will be hearing songs from the masters McCartney, Crosby, Stills & Nash that I sang as a child and emulated as a teenager, and Elvis who laid down the gauntlet to all of us as we formed our bands. The scene is set, great music both modern and timeless…. and, God as if that wasn’t good enough, we get to play too!”
Elsewhere, Elvis Costello will perform at the event fresh from starting a fire of controversy after cancelling his concerts in Israel. Earning the wrath of fans, the singer explained that the move away a protest against the country’s government.
Currently working on a new album, the singer will be joined by Joshua Raden and plenty more.
