Coldplay and Jay-Z are set to team up for a one off show this New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.
Is it really that time of the year already? It’s not even Halloween and already Christmas decorations are beginning to appear in the shops, with many people arranging plans for New Year’s Eve.
For those of us who plan ahead, Coldplay and Jay-Z have provided the ideal solution. Two heavyweight acts, the pair are set to team up for a one off show on December 31st in Las Vegas this year.
The two acts know each other already. Jay-Z appeared on ‘Prospekt’s March’, Coldplay’s follow up to ‘Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends’. An experimental EP, the release saw the rapper re-work the British group.
Obviously close, the pair will take part in a no doubt spectacular New Year’s Eve show. Sadly, the party is invite only with the Cosmopolitan casino in Las Vegas set to host the hugely in demand show.
Associated Press broke news of the show, with both acts set to share a stage. Tickets are going to be hard to come by, though Cosmopolitan officials have confirmed that the show will be broadcast to fans outside.
The joint performance will be broadcast on the hotel’s 65 foot marquee overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.
Meanwhile, Coldplay are working on new material. The band have been locked up in the studio, with Chris Martin recently breaking cover to perform a short acoustic set at the launch of the new iPod.
Unveiling the new track ‘Wedding Bells’ the frontman was on typically jovial form, praising the role of Apple technology in new music.
