Clash Went On A Night Out With The Amazons

...and lived to tell the tale!

With sell out shows and award nominations under their belt it seems to be all in a week’s work for Reading four-piece The Amazons. The quartet rounded off last week with a righteous return to their hometown Reading (October 14th) for the final stop on their most recent UK tour, after packing out East London haunt Oslo the night previous.

Showcasing gnarly guitars equating to a stadium rock sound at Readipop, the band’s tribes of fans have been out in full force at every date on the tour, but there’s something undeniably special about tonight’s triumphant homecoming.

Friends, family and fans all enthusiastically overlook the stage far too small for the anthemic sonic offerings pouring from the speakers as they crash straight into opener ‘Millions (The Party)’. Previous singles ‘Ultraviolet’ and ‘Stay With Me’ gather a rapturous response and incite the first of many mosh pits during the evening. New material makes a debut too only adding to the growing anticipation for the upcoming, Catherine Marks produced debut LP.

With a sound more fiery than frontman Matt Thompson’s locks, and the ability to deliver a blazing live show, The Amazons are a band with the capacity to be just as big as the riffs they create – jump on it now before it gets too hot.
