It might seem like only yesterday that Clash welcomed Talons, William and 4 or 5 Magicians to our monthly Saturday Social shindig – but t’was in fact some weeks ago. So it’s time for another.
And what an another it is!
This month’s instalment of our free-entry hijacking of the weekly RoTa afternoon – held at London’s Notting Hill Arts Club from 4pm ‘til 8pm – features a fidgety indie act on the rapid rise, ethereal post-rock splendour, engrossing analogue textures and bliss-out dronescapes. Quite the variety, with the emphasis on quality.
Playing live today – July 25, 2009 – at the Notting Hill Arts Club from 4pm we have…
TUBELORD (pictured)
Dave, Jo and Sean are Tubelord, a twitchy indie trio whose live shows over the past few months have seen their stock soar quite magnificently. CODES IN THE CLOUDS
Cinematic post-rock whose debut album, ‘Paper Canyon’ (REVIEW), has picked up more than its share of plaudits, Rock Sound labelling them “blissful” and DrownedinSound stating that their song ‘Fractures’ “is possibly the most gripping piece of music you’ll hear all year”. For fans of Caspian, This Will Destroy You, Explosions In The Sky.

YGT
YGT is Todd Marriott, formerly of I Was A Cub Scout, alongside a gentleman by the name of Thomas. Together they craft dreamy, glitch-addled electronica – telling you any more would spoil the surprise.

COLDSTREAM
Opening proceedings is this London-based solo artist, delivering epic electronic textures akin to Murcof and Hammock. We like. We like a lot.
