Clash Presents… DJ Zinc

New event launches

Bringing some fun and frisky musical entertainment to your weekend is the aim of Clash Magazine’s new event, set to launch on May 22nd.

Clash Magazine Presents… Fridays @ The Old Queen’s Head is a brand new event which presents some of the finest dance music being crafted in Britain and beyond. Held in one of London’s finest venues, the walls of the Old Queen’s Head are in for a pounding from some serious bass heavy action.

Set to be a monthly dance extravaganza, Clash Magazine Presents… has lined up a stunning bill for its opening night. DJ Zinc began his adventures in the electronic underworld in the Acid House era, passing mixtapes round to friends.

Drawn into the frenetic world of jungle, DJ Zinc began spewing out some formative drum & bass sides. His track ‘Super Sharp Shooter’ accidentally appealed to mainstream in 1995, helping bring drum and bass overground in the process.

Releasing some pivotal sides on 2000AD, Ganja and more DJ Zinc still maintains the Ganja Kru and True Playaz with his mates DJ Hype, Pascal, and Rude Bwoy Monty.

Continuing to release some hair raising slices of dancefloor abandon, DJ Zinc is a worthy headliner. The drum and bass icon will be joined by Andrea Parker, the matriarch of UK electro.

After a period signed to Belgian powerhouse R&S Records the DJ specialises in icy cool synths and bubbling beats. Parker boasts two decades of dancefloor experience, and will be joined by talented newcomer Hot City.

One of the most talked about names on the dance scene right now Hot City’s recent mix for Mary Ann Hobbs left radios fried across the land. A cheeky maverick talent, Hot City is signed to Highpoint Highlife whose lynchpin Thorsten Sideboard is also due to perform at the event.

Joining that lot are some spectacular support DJs including Sub Club legend Mr Mafro and the infamous Clash DJ team, who will no doubt press ‘play’ on a CD player or something.

Clash Magazine Presents… Friday’s @ The Old Queen’s Head begins this Friday (May 22nd) at 9pm.
