Without a doubt, the Polish know how to party. The fifth edition of musical and cultural delight that is the OFF Festival takes place between 5th and 8th of August 2010 – Katowice, Dolina Trzech Stawów (Three Lakes Valley), and Clash is going to be there to take in the sights and sounds of this weekend long knees-up!
The line-up is an eclectic mix of native Polish acts alongside a whole host of international legends, with the likes of Flaming Lips, The Fall, The Raveonettes, The Horrors, Dum Dum Girls, Dinosaur Jr, Tindersticks, A Place To Bury Strangers, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Casiokids and Wu Tang hero Raekwon all making their way to Katowice for some bison grass vodka among our European friends.
Since we’ll be in a country of rich heritage, we’ll also be getting a dash of culture in the form of poetry, literature and cinematic events across the site. Katowice has a broad range of accommodation, from cheap hostels to luxury hotels, but you can live the festival life 24 hours a day, since the OFF Festival will feature its own Festival Village, providing you with a place to stay, take care of sanitary needs, and grab a bite to eat.
Since those lovely Poles have resisted the move to the Euro, tickets are relatively cheap, working out at around £30 for 3 days of musical mayhem, and flights to Poland from the UK are affordable for any festival goers pocket.
