Clash Gigs Of The Week – 17th June

Featuring Jagwar Ma, Siouxsie and C2C

Siouxsie @ Meltdown Festival, London, Monday 17th

This year, Yoko Ono has been handed the Meltdown reins, and she has delivered. Lining up some of the biggest acts of any UK festival, June’s Southbank Centre listings are bathed in musical goodness with Deerhoof, Thurston Moore, Iggy & The Stooges and Bo Ningen all making an appearance. After such high demand for her first show of the festival, Siouxsie has been granted a second slot as part of her first live outing in five years.

Beady Eye @ The Ritz, Manchester, Wednesday 19th

Clash Magazine cover stars Beady Eye are back on the road following the release of their second album, ‘BE’. Liam and co. are already halfway through their tour of the UK, and fans at The Ritz in Manchester are in for a treat with the double whammy of a hometown show plus a relatively intimate setting.

Jagwar Ma @ XOYO, London, Wednesday 19th

There’s a lot to love about Jagwar Ma. For one, just close your eyes and have a listen to their psychedelic sounds. Then open them and check out the kaleidoscopic video below for ‘Man I Need’. Seriously, can’t stop watching. Having picked up a huge following before the release of their first full-length album, London's XOYO is set to be bursting at the seams. Surely their shows will only get bigger from here on out.

Ulrich Schnauss @ The Green Door Store, Brighton, Wednesday 19th

German techno-dreamer Ulrich Schnauss is floating around the UK at the moment, laying down his deep beats and sublime synths. Get him while he’s UK based; Schnauss is soon departing for US shores on his tour of North America, and he’s taking his ambient techno with him.

C2C @ The Forum, London, Thursday 20th

C2C are just far too cool, and they make it all look so effortless. These four French DJs specialise in synchronised beats, and you’re sure to find yourself torn between dancing your behind off, or gawping up in awe. They don’t stop there, going the extra mile with their visuals. They’ve worked pretty hard to give your gawps something to focus on. Case in point:
