Clash is involved in not one but two festival showcase events in London tonight (July 23, 2009).
At Upstairs At The Garage in Highbury we’ll be covering the action at the final of the Vans Off The Wall/Clash search for two bands to play at the Relentless Boardmasters Festival, held in August in Cornwall. We announced the finalists earlier in the week, but in case you missed it, the four live acts are:
Youves (MySpace)
The Tupolev Ghost (MySpace)
CartelL (MySpace)
The Spires (MySpace)
Doors open at 7pm, and entry is just £2. Get more information HERE.
If that doesn’t take your fancy, how’s this: we’ll also be on the judging panel at the Green Poll grand final in Camden, to pick one band to open this year’s prestigious Green Man Festival. Also on the panel are individuals from superb labels Moshi Moshi and Bella Union.
The Green Poll grand final takes place at the Monarch on Chalk Farm Road, and entry is free, with doors at 7pm. More information HERE. Playing live – with 15 minutes each to impress the judges, are:
The Maladies of Bellafontaine (MySpace)
One String Loose (MySpace)
We Aeronauts (MySpace)
Greenman Rising (MySpace)
The Sunday Dogs (MySpace)
The Halcyon Glow (MySpace)
So, perhaps we’ll be seeing you at one or the other, and if so: remember, it’s the taking part that counts… ah ha ha ha, who the eff are we kidding…
