The latest Clash Club event C3 is set to return starring Stricken City and more.
The start of the month can mean only two things: a new issue of Clash Magazine and a spectacular launch party. October sees the latest instalment hit the streets and to celebrate we have organised a new launch party.
C3 will return to London’s Barfly venue on October 8th, with fans treated to everything from live music to a live fashion show. Headliners Stricken City have been attracting attention all year, with a series of one off singles causing a stir across the country.
The London based four piece have all the sass of New Wave icons Blondie but with a shambling, mid 80s feel. Stricken City are currently working on their debut album, but have agreed to drop by the Barfly for a special performance.
Led by Rebekah Raa the quartet area blur of guitar fuzz and colour, attracting comparisons to the onstage gyrations of Karen O. However that’s where the comparison ends, with Stricken City a more torrid alternative to the glitz of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Elsewhere, fans will be kept entertained by the Clash DJs. Expect sets from our editor Simon Harper and roving reporter Edith Bowman – both of whom know how to keep the dancefloor happy.
Clash classics galore will sit alongside a few undiscovered rarities, with the dancing set to continue into the wee small hours.
Finally, C3 will boast a live fashion show from stylist Johnny Blue Eyes. A true extravert, the fashion don will be joined by the House Of Blue Eyes in an unusual tribute to the chameleon of pop David Bowie.
