Chrome Hoof have confirmed a lengthy series of British dates opening this November.
A multi-limbed collective, Chrome Hoof are difficult to categorise. Classically trained, the group veer from left field electronica to prog rock and beyond, covering nearly every outlandish point in between.
Returning earlier this year, with a new album Chrome Hoof unveiled a terrific new live show. Moving beyond the studio, the band are set to play a lengthy series of shows which kick off later this month.
Opening in London’s Relentless Garage, the band are preparing to play the Relentless Energy Festival. Speaking to ClashMusic, leader Milo outlined how Chrome Hoof’s live show has changed over time.
“We used to do more planning but because we’ve been doing it for a while now, it comes as a second nature to us now really. The line-up changes almost every show, sometimes we need a harpist and full orchestra and sometimes we just have the eight of us” he explained.
“If it’s a smaller venue we’ll thrash out a clubbier, dancier set as some of our music has pretty pounding, 4/4 drums. But in the bigger places like Royal Festival Hall we’ll play with a full orchestra and we can get more detailed with the sonics as there’s not all the chaos and noise around us.”
Continuing, the musician reflected on the low key origins of Chrome Hoof. “We were just having a laugh at the beginning but you get a little bit more self-aware and conscious the more you do things and now when you look at press referring to us as a twelve-piece orchestra but that wasn’t by design, it’s just turned out that way and people probably book us to some degree because we have novelty value but I think it’s good to watch. We just love playing our instruments and I hope that comes across.”
Opening in London on October 21st, the tour moves across the country. Chrome Hoof are set to play a number of dates, including shows in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and elsewhere.
Finishing in Brighton on October 31st, tickets for the shows are on sale now.
