Faris Badwan’s side project Cat’s Eyes are set to perform at this summer’s instalment of Latitude.
As first gigs go, performing in the Vatican is a pretty impressive prospect. Forming a new side project, Faris Badwan decided to unveil new material from Cat’s Eyes in one of the world’s real religious hot spots.
Releasing their debut album, the duo match atmospheric songwriting to a classical sensibility. An unusual diversion, Cat’s Eyes have played only a handful of live shows on British soil to date.
Now the duo have confirmed plans to perform at Latitude. The Suffolk festival is always sought after by music fans, due to its carefully chosen bill which always guarantees a few exclusive performances.
Due to visit the Suffolk event this summer, Cat’s Eyes join a rapidly expanding bill. Elsewhere, dubstep prodigy turned torch singer James Blake will perform having recently completed a full British tour.
Growing in confidence with each performance, James Blake has been wowing audiences on both sides of the Atlantic throughout 2011. Set to appear at Latitude, the new additions join an already stellar line up.
The National are due to headline, following a spectacular 2010. The band’s recent album ‘High Violet’ was a break through of sorts, after almost a decade of producing wonderful music.
Moving from cult phenomenon to mainstream success, The National are an always wonderful live act. Set to headline Latitude, the band will be joined by the likes of Isobel Campbel & Mark Lanegan, My Morning Jacket, Iron & Wine, The Waterboys and reformed Britpop icons Suede.
Tickets are on sale now.
Latitude runs between July 14th – 17th.
