Catfish & The Bottlemen seem to have cancelled their entire North American tour.
The band emerged from the darkness earlier this year, with singer Van McCann leading them back into battle. Initially there was confusion over the line-up, with Catfish & The Bottlemen then pushing back against the doubters with a packed out Sefton Park show.
Set to play some actual, genuine stadiums next year, Catfish & The Bottlemen also launched plans for dates in North America, and Australia.
Overnight, however, those plans appear to come apart. One by one, the Stateside shows were cancelled, with the Twitter / x account @catbupdates_ keeping fans in the loop.
Each venue appeared to have an individual story, with College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut citing “medical reasons” as the spur for the band “cancelling their upcoming tour”.
The dates were pulled in singular fashion, with Catfish & The Bottlemen yet to release an official statement on the news.
The fan account has confirmed that the full North American and Australian tours have been pulled, commenting: “just to be clear, all australian & american dates have been cancelled. every upcoming show this year. again, i’m so sorry for anyone who had tickets, hopefully you all get to see them soon when the band recovers…”
So, what gives? Will Catfish & The Bottlemen be able to complete their huge shows next summer – including a night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London…?
