Cat Power has posted a note online, explaining to fans that her upcoming tour might be cancelled due to health fears and bankruptcy.
Chan Marshall has always battled some very visible demons. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, Cat Power's output is often nakedly, uncomfortably autobiographical dealing with issues such as alcoholism and long term depression.
Recently returning with a new album, Chan Marshall had seemed to be the figure of health. Now, though, fans are raising fresh concerns after the singer posted a lengthy note on Instagram indicating that she might be forced to cancel her upcoming tour.
The note reads:
I MAY HAVE TO CANCEL MY EUROPEAN TOUR DUE TO BANKRUPTCY & MY HEALTH STRUGGLE WITH ANGIOEDEMA. I HAVE NOT THROWN IN ANY TOWEL, I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT BEST I CAN DO. HEART BROKEN. WORKED SO HARD. GOT SICK DAY AFTER "SUN" CAME OUT & BEEN STRUGGLING TO KEEP ALL POINTS OF ME IN EQUILIBRIUM : MIND, SPIRIT, BODY HEALTHY CENTERED & GROUNDED. I AM DOING THE BEST I CAN. I FUCKING LOVE THIS PLANET. I REFUSE TO GIVE UP. THOUGH I MAY NEED TO RESTRATAGIZE FOR MY SECURITY & HEALTH.
