Canadian Blast Hits London

Richie Hawtin and more confirmed

A new multi-venue showcase Canadian Blast is set to hit London this summer.

Oh, Canada! The Northern nation was long seen as the poor musical cousin of the United States, but recently Canada has re-invented itself as one of the most credible creative places on the planet.

Groups such as Arcade Fire and labels such as Arts & Crafts have reinvigorated the country’s music scene, with a new multi venue showcase bringing the best of Canada to venues across London.

Canadian Blast is a three day festival which will use a total of eight venues. Artists from across the country’s music scene will be involved, demonstrating the sheer breadth of Canada’s creative culture.

Techno don Richie Hawtin is set to travel to the UK for a rare live set. With Detroit lying just across the border, dance music was always going to penetrate deeply into the Canadian psyche.

Just one of a generation of top producers, Richie Hawtin will spearhead the Canadian takeover. Also featuring on a varied bill are the Canadian Tenors and more with the line up moving from folk to rock to electronica and more.

Taking place between June 29th – July 1st, Canadian Blast is offering fans a special bonus when purchasing tickets. Each ticket will act as a free download card, with music fans able to grab a free track by each participating artist.

With the likes of Jully Black, Plants And Animals, Elephant Stone and more taking place it seems as if the vibrancy of Canada’s music scene is assured for some time yet.

Canadian Blast takes place between June 28th – July 1st.
