Bruce Springsteen New Jersey Shows

The Boss to re-visit classic albums

Legendary songwriter Bruce Springsteen is set to re-visit a classic album during an upcoming concert in New Jersey.

Born and bred in New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen has always remained close to the industrial northern city. The area features strongly in his songwriting, with Springsteen organising five huge shows in New Jersey for later this month.

The singer recently re-visited a classic album during a shoe in Chicago, which seems to have triggered a bout of nostalgia in Bruce Springsteen.

Cited as a possible successor to Bob Dylan on his debut album, Bruce Springsteen allowed his rock roots to show on ‘Born To Run’. Massively successful, it launched a legend with the title track alone taking six months to record.

Springsteen is set to play a series of five shows in Giants Stadium East Rutherford, backed as ever by The E Street Band. The group will perform ‘Born To Run’ and ‘Born In The USA’ twice, while ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ will claim the final slot.

“Chicago convinced us that this was really worth doing,” Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau explained in a statement. “The audience was so supportive of the concept that it convinced us to go ahead with this at Giants Stadium.”

Bruce Springsteen tested the full album format with a show in Chicago earlier this year. Together with The E Street Band the group played ‘Born To Run’ in its entirety. However fans should be warned that once these shows are over the band are planning an extended break.

“We are gonna take, I don’t know how long – a year, year and a half, two years (break),” guitarist Steven Van Zandt said last week to Angy Ape.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play the following dates:

September
30 East Rutherford Giants Stadium (Born To Run)

October
2 East Rutherford Giants Stadium (Darkness On The Edge Of Town)
3 East Rutherford Giants Stadium (Born In The USA)
8 East Rutherford Giants Stadium (Born To Run)
9 East Rutherford Giants Stadium (Born In The USA)
