British Sea Power are set to take their soundtrack project 'From the Sea to the Land Beyond' to this year's Sundance.
British Sea Power are fond of unusual gigs. A band who once held a festival at Britain's highest pub, the group launched new album 'Machineries of Joy' with a trip across London last night.
Ending with an intimate performance, as the final notes of that gig ended the band announced plans for yet another odd show. The Brighton based outfit have been invited to appear at Sundance, performing their soundtrack to 'From the Sea to the Land Beyond'.
Taking place on April 28th, the film itself is a loving ode to Britain's coastline. Working in conjunction with director Penny Woolcock, the band were able to match natural sounds with brand new material.
A quote from British Sea Power: "It’s an honour to be playing at Sundance London. We’re really pleased with the way this film worked out – it was great working with Penny Woolcock. The film has taken us on an incredible journey and this is a rare opportunity to perform live with the film."
Here's a preview of the film.
