Without a doubt one of the most refreshing and diversely unique offerings to the UK festival scene today, the past weekend saw an estimated 66,000 people congregate on the Matterley Estate in South Downs National Park for a celebration of music and culture like no other. Entitled ‘Chapter 3 – Revolution Of Imagination’ and acting as the sequel to last years ‘Chapter 2 – The Twin Trail’, the festival revealed a gigantic programme of more than 450 names playing over the course of the five days. Having been invited down as a VIP guest of the brand, at Clash we checked out Relentless’ Freeform stage full-day and night takeover at Boomtown’s ‘Wrong Side Of The Tracks’ area.
As an energy drink brand known for fueling intense experiences, Relentless seeked to bring their high-octane vibes to Boomtown’s streets, promising an electrifying blend of cutting-edge music and immersive atmosphere aligning with not only the festival’s ethos but their own brand identity. Located within the realms of Area 505, the ‘Wrong Side Of The Tracks’ nestles behind the Origin stage in what feels like a relatively remote area of Boomtown in comparison to other areas within the site. Surrounded by reused shipping containers crafted into raised viewing platforms alongside colourful art decor and creative installations, the whole area stood as a vibrant and creatively inspiring location, perfect for Relentless’ Freeform takeover.
Spread across a thirteen hour period, fourteen artists took to the stage; Konetix (freeform mentee), Vanessa Maria, Papa Nugs, Neffa-T, Redlight, DJ Q B2B Miley Serious, Total Science, Charlie Tee, Fixate B2B Sully, Spinscott and Mantra B2B Equinox Ft GQ, a wide variety of musical talent that looked certain to get the dancefloor moving throughout the day.

Offering a multi-genre lineup throughout the day, the stage curation came alongside Relentless’ FreeForm Forum mentorship scheme announcement which is now open for applications. The initiative is designed to empower young, rebellious creators to break through industry barriers, offering 12 young creatives between the ages of 18-25 the chance to learn how to push their creative boundaries and forge their career paths without limits, directly from leading music industry mentors, with one of the twelve carefully selected to take away a ten thousand pound creative fund to fuel their project and break said boundaries. The mentors include that of AntsLive, Sherelle, Ayshe Zaefoglu (AZ) and Troy Roscoe, who will all be matched with three aspiring creatives within their field.

The standout set came from Fixate B2B Sully who played an hour and a half set from midnight until 1:30am, the latter of course standing as one of the indisputable jungle and breakbeat heavyweights the scene has to offer, who also happened to feature in our Seven Jungle Artists Carrying The Torch For The NewGen editorial earlier this year. Complemented perfectly by the track selection and ability of fixate, the audience were sent on a musical journey, one which focused on the roots of rave culture with some of the best jungle played throughout the whole festival. With free Relentless energy drinks being handed out at the stage, the crowds were flowing in thick and fast throughout the day, with a perfectly curated lineup by the music team at Relentless crafting great memories for festival goers long throughout the day and night. The Wrong Side Of The Tracks was definitely the place to be on Friday.
