Bob Dylan And Willie Nelson Tour

US songwriters unite

Two of the most renowned songwriters in the history of American music are set to unite, with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson due to tour later this year.

Despite their differing backgrounds, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson both went on to become icons of the emerging counter culture. Dylan was a product of the Greenwich Village folk scene, while Nelson was a Nashville songwriter yet both came to embody life outside the norm.

Last year Bob Dylan announced plans to curate an album of material based on lyrics left behind by legendary country troubadour Hank Williams. Willie Nelson was amongst those named for the project, which is also set to star Jack White.

However before that can be completed Dylan has the trivial matter of a new album to release. The songwriter stunned fans by announcing details of his new album ‘Together Through Life’, and followed this by publishing a revealing new interview with the renowned American journalist Bill Flanagan.

Amongst the topics covered in the lengthy interview were the roots of Elvis, why the Rolling Stones need Bill Wyman back and Adolf Hitler.

His first album since 2006, ‘Together Through Life’ is said to be inspired by early 20th century parlor music, and marks a new chapter in one of American music’s most engrossing careers.

Bob Dylan will join Willie Nelson for an extensive tour of ballparks in the United States this summer. Beginning on July 2nd at the GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois the tour will continue across America before winding up with a special date in California.

The new tour marks only the second time in 24 years that the two songwriters have appeared together onstage.

Bob Dylan’s new album ‘Together Through Life’ is available now.
