Blur are set to headline an enormous Hyde Park show as part of the London Live celebrations.
The Olympics are set to utterly dominate life in London this summer. Thousands upon thousands of visitors are expected, with the city’s transport network set to be pushed to the brink.
To coincide with the enormous sporting event, a number of artistic showcases have been planned. BT London Live is set to run across the summer, utilising a wide-ranging variety of performers.
Ending on August 12th, the final BT London Live concert coincides with the closing date of the Olympics. The Specials and New Order will perform at the Hyde Park show, while Blur have stepped in as headliners.
The band will play their first group shows since the summer of 2009, which saw Blur complete a number of emotional re-union dates.
Damon Albarn, Alex James, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree will be re-united, performing tracks from across their back catalogue. The news is the latest twist in the ongoing Blur re-union saga, which recently saw Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon perform together at War Child’s pre-BRITs party.
