Blur have announced a quartet of tiny warm-up shows.
The legendary British group will play two enormous shows at London’s Wembley Stadium this summer, hitting the mammoth London venue on July 8th and 9th. Guests include the one and only Paul Weller, 2-Tone crew the Selecter, and a DJ set from snooker ace turned techno guru Steve Davis.
Tickets are on sale, and as a special preview Blur have just confirmed four intimate warm-up shows. Full details are incoming, but they open in the band’s hometown of Colchester on May 19th, before hitting Eastbourne on May 21st.
Blur will play Wolverhampton on May 26th, before the short run finishes on May 28th in Newcastle.
Full ticket details are set to be revealed shortly, with fans told to sign up at the official Blur website for further information.
Busy times for the band, with Blur drummer Dave Rowntree releasing his debut solo album earlier this year. Clash caught up with him at-length shortly after the release, and you can re-visit that conversation in our archive.
Elsewhere, guitarist Graham Coxon released a collaborative album with Rose Elinor Dougall – we spoke to both artists in our Personality Clash series.
