Bloc Party Get Spooked

Band See Ghost At Connect

Bloc Party played a memorable set at the Hydro Connect festival over the weekend – apparently fueled by a spooky experience singer Kele Okereke had on the event’s grounds!

For those not in the know, Hydro Connect takes place on grounds owned by the Duke Of Argyll, and the ancestral home of the family overlooks the main stage. According to reports, lead singer Kele Okereke was walking on his own before his set when he saw an old woman walking dog. On returning to the dressing room, Bloc Party’s tour manager informed him that this was in fact a famous ghost.

The Duke of Argyll was able to confirm the legend of the old woman, and claimed that the castle’s grounds are haunted by up to five ghosts.

The band remained determined to put on a hair raising show of their own, however, and began their set with recent controversial single “Mercury”. Loud enough to raise the dead, the band played two encores including excerpts from their brilliant new album “Intimacy”.

Expect some reviews from Hydro Connect shortly!
