American blues two-piece The Black Keys have added more British tour dates to their upcoming jaunt.
The Black Keys are at home in the live environment. Often recording as close to live as possible, the Akron based blues duo have a near telepathic ability to steer their music into new areas.
Due to return with their sixth studio album later this year, The Black Keys decided to visit a home from home. Alabama’s Muscle Shoals studio boasts a stunning litany of guests, with the duo recording parts of their new album in the building.
Hooking up to the mixing desk, a Black Keys recording session tends to be as a loose as possible. Recalling the rambling groove of ‘Main Street’ Stones, the band’s Delta rhythms underpin Dan Auerbach’s howling voice.
Set to be released later this year, new album ‘Brothers’ is a triumphant return. Taking time off to work on solo projects and the ‘Blakroc’ album the new record see The Black Keys get back on track.
Containing some of the group’s most haunting music to date, ‘Brothers’ will be accompanied by a trio of live dates. The Black Keys will play a show at London’s Roundhouse venue on June 23rd, before returning for two shows in July.
Due to play Birmingham’s O2 Academy on July 8th, The Black Keys will also play a show in Manchester on the 9th. Tickets for the shows are set to go on sale soon, with the Ohio duo due to blast through tracks from their new album alongside some bone rattlin’ favourites from their back catalogue.
