Bjork and Bon Iver have just been announced as confirmed artists playing next year’s Flow Festival in Finland.
Icelandic singer-songwriter Bjork is the first to be announced for next years Flow Festival, making one of her rare ‘Biophilia’ tour appearances on the Sunday, bringing the festival to an end.
Bjork released her eighth studio album ‘Biophilia’ in October, partly recorded using an iPad and released in app form in collaboration with Apple. The project itself is described by Bjork as a multi-media collection ‘encompassing music, apps, internet installations and live shows’ and is ranked in Clash’s ‘Top 40 albums of 2011’ at number 12.

American Folk band Bon Iver, lead by Justin Vernon are said to be kicking off the festival weekend, scheduled to perform on the Wednesday. The success of their self-titled second album ‘Bon Iver’, that was released last June saw the band earn four Grammy nominations in November.
2011’s sold out Flow Festival saw performances from Kanye West, Lykke Li, Mogwai and Royksopp, with these announcements for next year already in the bag we can assume that it’s going to be just as popular. Plans are said to also be in place to improve and enlarge the festival area, which in its ninth year will still take place in Helsinki’s disused power station Suvilahti.
Flow Festival will be taking place between 8th-12th August 2012 spanning five days for the first time.
Early bird tickets will be going on sale tomorrow, 7th December at 9am.
