Beth Jeans Houghton has confirmed a number of nationwide shows this February.

Hailing from the North East, Beth Jeans Houghton first began to attract attention with her solo shows in the summer of 2009. Refusing to be hurried, the singer assembled a backing group and took her time when constructing her debut album.

Indebted to the British folk tradition, Beth Jeans Houghton mixes in elements of psychedelia, glam and more. Debut album ‘Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose’ was constructed with assistance from Ben Hiller, and finds the fast rising songwriter in a confident mood.

With the release lingering on the schedule, the North East singer has announced a series of British shows. Taking place in February, the concerts find Beth Jeans Houghton shifting around the country.

Backed by The Hooves of Destiny – clearly, this isn’t some overly earnest young talent – Beth Jeans Houghton will open the shows in Glasgow on February 17th.

Hitting the historic town of St Andrews on February 18th, the tour will then wind its away around the country. Dates follow in Middlesbrough, Liverpool, Leeds and more with a home town show (well, almost) planned at Gateshead’s Old Town Hall.

The tour finishes in London on March 1st, with Beth Jeans Houghton performing at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen.
