Fans of Bestival had better act quick – the event has made a limited number of weekend tickets available.
Held on the Isle Of Wight, Bestival has earned a reputation as one of the most inventive events on the festival calendar. Curated by Rob Da Bank, the weekend is one long orgy of great music and fancy dress.
Fancy dress? Why yes, Bestival sets a theme each year which ticket holders do their best to adhere to. Prizes are given for the best outfit with some people possibly spending more on their costume than they do on their ticket.
However it is on the line up that the festival will be judged, and this year promises a number of special performances. Headliners include electronic pioneers Kraftwerk, with Bristol trip hop legends Massive Attack also due to perform.
Mercury music prize winners Elbow are also set to play, with the Bury group set to head back into the studio to work on a follow up to their celebrated album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’. In addition to this fans can expect a raft of other special treats.
The brand new Afterburner stage will host pyrotechnics, while there is also Come Dancing’s beautiful Spiegeltent, the intergalactic cockney time travel extravaganza that is the Knees Up and much, much more.
Bestival has long since sold out, however organisers are set to re-sell a number of returns via their official website. Beginning at mid day today (August 17th) a handful of tickets will go on sale, with fans urged ti act quick or miss out!
Bestival takes place between September 11th – 13th.
