Bestival Reveals Fancy Dress Theme

Deep Sea Garb Requested

Rob Da Bank’s annual request for fancy dress at Bestival is waited for with baited breath, and this year the theme will be taken from Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”.

Set in Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, Bestival is one of the most eagerly anticipated musical events of the summer. Curated by that saint of a man Rob Da Bank, the Bestival line up is sure to surprise. Its annual fancy dress theme is entered into with gusto by the crowds, many of whom go to some considerable effort to create their costumes.

This year Bestival has requested that its 30,000 attendees dress in a costume inspired by the Jules Verne novel “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”. Expect sharks, whales and even the odd Nemo wandering lost around the festival grounds.

This year’s Bestival event sold out in record time. The line up for the festival includes such delights as reformed shoegazing pioneers My Bloody Valentine, electronic legend Aphex Twin and The Brreders. Alongside these headliners will be appearances from George Clinton, Gary Numan, The Human League, 808 State, Foals and The Wedding Present.

Bestival takes place at Robin Hill Country Park, Isle of Wight from September 5th – 7th.
