Bat For Lashes Spectacular iTune Show

Natasha Khan dresses as a wolf

Sensational songwriter Natasha Khan of Bat For Lashes dressed as a wolf for the band’s performance in the iTunes festival.

Taking over the historic Roundhouse venue in London, the iTunes festival has managed to gather some stellar names. Recently, celebrated Australian musician Nick Cave agreed to give a special reading as part of the event, with his performance available to purchase on iTunes immediately after the show.

Nick Cave will be joining a stellar cast. Oasis have agreed to play a set for the iTunes event, with the Manchester band’s performance at the Roundhouse being one of their most intimate this year.

Also due to play are acts such as Kasabian, with iTunes able to secure many star names. Bat For Lashes recently returned with their second album ‘Fur And Gold’, with the group promising something special for their performance.

‘Fur And Gold’ was acclaimed by critics as a fine return. The band released their debut album back in 2005, and won a Mercury nomination in the process. With the award rolling around again, many are predicting that Bat For Lashes could go one better this time round.

However Bat For Lashes had more pressing matters at hand when taking to the stage at the Roundhouse. Led by Natasha Khan, the singer emerged onstage donning a wolf catsuit with furry tassels.

Launching into ‘Glass’ the band were joined by former Ash star Charlotte Hatherley. Bat For Lashes opted for a lush sound at the show, with the band benefiting from the addition of a string trio.

Natasha Khan lead the band into ‘Bat’s Mouth’ after asking the crowd “can I see some batmasks out there?” before adding: “I can see three, that’s good.”

Later in the show Khan took a solo turn on the song ‘Prescilla’. Sat alone at a harpsichord, the Bat For Lashes singer gave an emotional performance, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.

Afterwards the singer laughed, saying “it’s a bit difficult playing this with these hairy arms.” Rounding off the show with ‘Daniel’, Bat For Lashes seemed on great form, with their set now available to buy on iTunes.
