Avi Buffalo Hit The UK

New tour dates confirmed

Bittersweet Sub Pop signings Avi Buffalo are set to return to the UK for a rare batch of tour dates.

Centred on songwriter Avi Zahner-Isenberg, Avi Buffalo released one of last year’s most fluid guitar albums. Self-titled, the Long Beach group were able to match gorgeous melodies to often heartbreaking lyrics.

Avi Zahner-Isenberg’s sighing vocals sat in the middle, as the group’s warm arrangements circled around. Released last year, Avi Buffalo’s album was sadly not followed by extensive touring.

Sure, the band played Glastonbury twice but a full tour was jeopardised after two band members decided to leave. Pursuing other musical endeavours, Rebecca Coleman and Arin Fazio are now working on separate projects.

Re-jigged as a four piece, Avi Buffalo are now set to return with their new single ‘How Come’. Typically bittersweet, the track will be coupled with ‘Good I’m Wishing’ which recalls the finest work of Arthur Lee.

Set to be released this summer, Avi Buffalo will follow the new single with some British shows. The band’s most sustained period of touring the UK, the dates open on July 11th in Bristol.

Avi Buffalo will play London on July 12th, followed by shows in Nottingham and Leeds. “We’re so excited about this European tour we cannot even express it,” explains Avi.

“We’ll be playing lots of new material and of course old stuff to ensure that our fans coming out to see us will get to enjoy the songs from our first record live if they haven’t had a chance to. It’s going to be a really fun tour for us and a completely new experience for us in many ways.”

Avi Buffalo are due to play the following shows:

July
11 Bristol Thekla
12 London Scala
13 Nottingham Bodega Social Club
14 Leeds Brudenell Social Club
15 Latitude Southwold
