Asobi Seksu Bring Christmas Cheer

Band To Cover Ramones Festive Classic

Asobi Seksu are all set to celebrate the arrival of old Father Christmas himself with a new festive anthem. Their single, released December 10th, is a cover of The Ramones’ classic “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want To Fight Tonight)”.

The single comes with an original b-side continuing the festive theme, entitled “New Years”. “Merry Christmas” was written by The Ramones in 1989, and represents a good choice of cover for this time of year – “Beat On The Brat” perhaps being a tad inappropriate. The song is given a typically dreamy pop sheen by the Japanese / New York group.

The single release follows a November tour by Asobi Seksu. The band will play the following dates:

November 22nd – London, Legion
November 23rd – Birmingham, Barfly
November 25th – Ireland, Crawdaddy
November 26th – Belfast, The Speakeasy
November 28th – Leeds, The Cockpit
November 29th – The Cockpit
November 30th – London, Koko
