Sheffield indie titans Arctic Monkeys have arranged a special one off show in the Shepherds Bush Empire.
Arctic Monkeys are used to playing massive arenas, with thousands of fans singing back their every word. The Sheffield band released their new album ‘Humbug’ last year and played a celebratory British tour.
Taking in some massive venues, a climactic show was filmed by director Richard Ayoade for a new documentary. Due to play the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, the band have now confirmed a one off show in an intimate venue.
The Sheffield group have arranged a last minute show in London’s Shepherds Bush Empire. Taking place this Sunday (March 28th) the gig is in the smallest venue Arctic Monkeys have played in some time.
The show comes as Arctic Monkeys prepare to release their new single ‘My Propellor’. Taken from their third album ‘Humbug’ the track will be available as a download, as well as a special edition vinyl release.
Available exclusively though Oxfam, the vinyl version of ‘My Propellor’ comes complete with the exclusive B-sides ‘The Afternoon’s Hat’ and ‘Don’t Forget Whose Legs You’re On’.
David McCullough, Oxfam’s director of trading, said: “The partnership with Domino and Arctic Monkeys has broken new ground for us, and we’re delighted to be continuing it.”
“But ‘My Propeller’ isn’t the only music exclusive in Oxfam shops – every shop has its own unique stock of music. As everyone from DJs to vinyl aficionados knows, our shops are one of the best places on the high street to pick up hidden treasures.”
Due for release on March 22nd, the single will now be matched with a one off live show. Tickets for the Shepherds Bush Empire show are on sale now, with Arctic Monkeys making them available through their official website.
