Open’er festival in Poland has confirmed Arctic Monkeys as headliners for this summer’s event.
The Sheffield group have already been busy on the festival circuit, playing Big Day Out in Australia. With the growing popularity of festivals in the Southern hemisphere, it is now possible to enjoy them all year round!
Arctic Monkeys stunned fans by previewing new material at the shows, with the band having finished working on their new album recently. The Sheffield band moved to the Joshua Tree, California where they worked with rock icon Josh Homme.
Also due to headline Open’er are southern indie giants Kings Of Leon, fresh from scooping two trophies at the Brit Awards. The group will take to the stage alongside British acts Duffy and Basement Jaxx, both of whom are new to the Open’er experience.
Ska kings Madness are also due to perform at Eastern Europe’s premiere music event, and the nutty boys are due to perform alongside The Ting Tings and Crystal Castles.
Open’er features 120 acts during the course of the weekend, which has been extended to four days for the very first time. Last years event saw appearances by the likes of Bjork, Chemical Brothers, Muse and The Beastie Boys.
Open’er festival runs from July 2nd – 5th.
