Arctic Monkeys are set to perform at the massive Big Day Out festival in Australia and New Zealand next year, it has been announced.
The Sheffield group have confirmed their first appearance of 2009 with the news that they are to appear at the BIg Day Out event in January. Leave your woolly mittens at home though, as this festival is set on the Australian Gold Coast, which will be in the middle of a scorching summer.
Also confirmed for the bill thus far are Neil Young, The Prodigy, Bullet For My Valentine, My Morning Jacket, The Ting Tings and TV On The Radio.
Big Day Out has grown from a small regional event into one of the world’s premiere festivals. Like Lollapalooza in the US, Big Day Out is a traveling festival and takes in such cities as Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Auckland.
Big Day Out begins on January 16th.
