Arcade Fire, Solange, Beyonce – Coachella 2014 Round Up

The highs, the lows...

Inaccessible to all but the most determined of fans, Coachella has become a global talking point.

Returning for another instalment, the first leg of the Californian desert event took place at the weekend. Pharrell arguably stole the show, with a flamboyant performance in which the 'Happy' singer was joined by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and more.

Sadly, though, desert winds seemed to spoil the set for many. With dust rising, equipment began to malfunction and many fans departed for cover.

The dust also seemed to affect OutKast's much vaunted comeback performance. Introduced by Janelle Monae, the pair rampaged through their catalogue but faced a battle against the elements.

Elsewhere, Solange appeared at Coachella. Performing a version of Kate Bush' single 'Cloudbusting' the singer was joined by sister Beyonce for an epic version of 'Losing You'.

Arcade Fire closed out the third day of the Californian event, pulling out all the stops for their set. Performing Blondie's 'Heart Of Glass' the band were joined by Debbie Harry on backing vocals.

Bothered by the sand? Well don't worry – Coachella is returning in just under a week for its second leg.
