Arcade Fire For Rock En Seine

Massive Attack and more for French event

Canadian indie giants Arcade Fire are to headline this summer’s Rock En Seine festival in Paris.

Held on the outskirts of Paris, Rock En Seine is emerging as one of Europe’s premiere live music events. Last year the festival hooked a number of stellar headliners, although one was destined to implode in dramatic circumstances.

Getting ready to go onstage, Oasis erupted into an enormous row backstage. Departing the world of music in a flurry of foul mouthed insults, smashed guitars and sibling rivalry the band ironically put Rock En Seine on the map.

This year Arcade Fire are set to headline the French event. The band have close links to France, with two members of the Montreal based collective being fluent in French.

Set to make a rare European appearance, the Canadian band have added Rock En Seine to a schedule which already includes Ireland’s Oxegen.

Also set to perform are legendary Bristol trip hop group Massive Attack. Firing on full cylinders with their new album ‘Heligoland’ the band have not been this vibrant, this current in almost a decade.

Touring the nation, Daddy G and 3D have been joined by a series of guest stars. A stunning live act, the band’s intense, groundbreaking material also contains some moments of rare beauty.

Elsewhere, Queens Of The Stone Age have been confirmed for the event with Beirut and returning math rock titans Foals also set to take part. Bloc Party singer Kele Okereke is set to play a solo slot, under his new name of ‘Kele’.

Rock En Seine takes place between August 27th – 29th.
