Arab Strap are set to reform for a one off show in their native Glasgow on November 17th.
Deciding to part company in 2006, Arab Strap bade farewell to their fans with a one off show in Glasgow. Bringing down the curtain on their career at the ABC, the concert was an emotional but ultimately cathartic farewell.
Now Arab Strap are set to get back together for a one off show. The Falkirk duo of Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat will tread the boards at Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy on November 17th as part of the venue’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
The one off show will see Arab Strap perform together in public for the first time since 2006. Aidan Moffat broke the news on his Twitter feed, telling fans: “One night only: Arab Strap play @nice_n_sleazy on November 17th. FREE ENTRY. For tickets, email [email protected].”
Continuing, Moffat insisted that the show is strictly a one off affair. “For those asking: Arab Strap won’t be playing anywhere else except @nice_n_sleazy, it’s a one-off for their birthday. Sorry!”
Tickets will be in high demand, with the songwriter explaining: “Arab Strap tickets are first come, first served. There might be a few kept aside for the door.”
The two members of Arab Strap were brought together in unusual circumstances earlier this year. Aidan Moffat was asked to remix Slow Club and – not knowing how to produce a remix – he decided to cover the track instead.
Inviting Malcolm Middleton to help him out, the new version of ‘Two Cousins’ became an Arab Strap re-union of sorts. Stream ‘Two Cousins’ below…
