Andrew Weatherall London Residency

'A Love From Outer Space' details

Legendary British DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall is to launch a new London residency on May 20th.

Andrew Weatherall is one of the finest DJs Britain has produced. Always elegantly dressed, the DJ is capable of spinning everything from 50s rockabilly to uber-futuristic techno – simply put, you never know what you’re going to get.

Now the turntable artist has confirmed details of a new joint residency in London. Andrew Weatherall has teamed up with Sean Johnston to form ‘A Love From Outer Space’.

Launching on May 20th, the night is named after A.R. Kane’s track and will take place in a tiny Stoke Newington pub. Capacity is set at a snug 140, with the sound system apparently more than enough for the intimate venue.

Releasing more details, Andrew Weatherall has promised eclectic sets drawing on everything from Krautrock and proto-house to straight ahead disco, rock ‘n’ roll and more.

Meanwhile Sean Johnston has been quietly releasing a string of sought after releases o labels such as Luna Flicks. Speaking to Resident Advisor, the producer told fans to expect a “sleazy” vibe.

“We’d been talking very loosely about doing something together since we did the launch party for his Watch The Ride mix CD at East Village” he explained. “We wanted a venue with a good sound system and a nice low-key vibe that was a bit off the beaten track, and The Drop came up at just the right time.”

“Andrew and I both acquire so much interesting music that we never get the chance to play during the normal Friday/Saturday night club context so it will be a chance to air some more unusual pieces” he continued.

“I think it would be fairly safe to say that you can expect the unexpected… Psyche-Disco was the most appropriate description we could concoct… It’s likely to be low-slung and sleazy.”

‘A Love From Outer Space’ will launch on May 20th.
