Fans of LCD Soundsystem have received an apology after a show at Alexandra Palace went awry.
Returning to Britain for a farewell tour, LCD Soundsystem have played a series of emotional shows. However thanks to poor planning at the Alexandra Palace in London fans were left more emotional than most.
Huge queues coupled with problems at the bar meant that the venue was flooded with complaints from disgruntled fans. The show last week (November 10th) was a success but left some fans with a bad taste in their mouth.
After conducting an internal investigation, the venue has now issued an apology. “It has saddened everyone at Alexandra Palace involved with the concert that the two great performances were tarnished due to problems within the venue,” says managing director Rebecca Kane.
“Whilst the majority of feedback about the gig has been really positive, we are deeply concerned that a significant proportion of the audience did not have the best experience of our venue.”
Continuing, Kane explained that the venue were shocked by the number of people who arrived early. Dealing with these fans caused queues, which continued throughout the remainder of the night.
With the re-vamped venue running at capacity, a number of problems with the bar emerged. Insisting that changes have already been made, Alexandra Palace boss Rebecca Kane finished by apologising to fans.
“As a venue we would like to demonstrate our sincere apologies regarding your experience at this gig. You may be aware that the concert was recorded live and CDs were on sale on the night. As a gesture of goodwill we would like to send you a copy of this CD and ask that you provide us with a postal address within the next 14 days.”
Which is nice of them. The offer is only available to those who attended the show, make sure you have your ticket stub as proof of attendance.
