Seattle based grunge legends Alice In Chains have confirmed details of a new five date UK tour, beginning in November.
Alice In Chains began as a Slayer influenced metal group playing covers around Seattle. Struggling to find their own sound, the band began slowing their music down and incorporating elements of medieval harmonies.
Linked to the grunge scene, Alice In Chains were always more in love with metal than punk. The band had few connections to Sub Pop, though they did share many stylistic traits with grunge acts such as Pearl Jam.
Finding almost instant fame, the band’s debut album ‘Facelift’ was an enormous success. Catapulted into a world of arena tour and platinum sales, Alice In Chains struggled to cope.
Adapting their sound, the group went on to become one of America’s most successful recording artists during the 90s. Going on hiatus in 2002 Alice In Chains recently stunned fans by announcing their return.
New album ‘Black Gives Way To Blue’ is the band’s first in fourteen years and demonstrates that while true rockers grow older they never quite grow up.
Confirming details of their first UK tour in almost a decade, Alice In Chains grow a lengthy list of returning American rock heroes. Faith No More recently reformed, while Pearl Jam are preparing to release their latest album.
Alice In Chains are set to play the following UK tour dates:

12 Glasgow Barrowlands
13 Birmingham O2 Academy
14 Manchester Academy
