New York singer Adam Green played a sensational show in London on Wednesday, being joined by indie upstarts The Paddingtons.
Adam Green is a triumph of New York’s ever creative coffee house scene. Together with a group of friends, the singer’s ramshackle take on America’s musical legacy was dubbed anti-folk by the press.
After the split of original group The Mouldy Peaches Adam Green went on a varying solo career. Embarking on a variety of projects the singer recently had a blast from the past after a number of Mouldy Peaches songs featured in the hit film ‘Juno’.
Currently finishing off his new album ‘Minor Love’ the New Yorker returned to London to play a very special free show.
Playing the last minute show in the Flowerpot Venue in London the singer invited The Paddingtons onstage to blast through a special request. ‘Ladyboy In Hull’ was co-written by Green and former Dirty Pretty Things guitarist Anthony Rossomando.
A stunning tribute to The Paddingtons’ hometown, the song is set to feature on the B-side of the indie upstarts’ new single.
In addition to this, Adam Green also blasted his way through a number of songs from throughout his career. Unveiling the likes of ‘The Prince’s Bed’ and ‘Nat King Cole’ the singer seemed on wonderful form.
The show in the tiny Flowerpot venue filled up to capacity around an hour before stagetime, leaving many fans gathered outside singing along to each song.
Adam Green is currently playing support slots with The Cribs.
