Royal Blood

Launched in 2014, the 6Music Festival aims to take breaking music to a new site each year.

In a special announcement last night (January 27th) Lauren Laverne confirmed that the 6Music Festival will hit Tyneside in 2015.

Spread across three days – February 20th – 22nd – the opening night will take place at the O2 Academy before hitting The Sage in Gateshead for the remaining two shows.

Royal Blood are due to appear, alongside reformed alt rock icons Sleater-Kinney, The War On Drugs, The Cribs, Django Django, Gruff Rhys, Glass Animals, Mogwai, British Sea Power and many, many more.

Alongside this, 6Music Festival By Day will occupy several venues across Newcastle. Lauren Laverne said:

"I'm so excited that this year’s 6 Music Festival is taking us back to my home in the Northeast. It’s going to be an incredible weekend of music, not to be missed. The Festival is a celebration of the music and culture we and our listeners love so much."

6Music Festival runs between February 20th – 22nd.
