London based showcase 1234 Festival has expanded its line up with Fucked Up and more set to perform.
Held in venues around Shoreditch, 1234 Festival aims to showcase just how vibrant that area is right now. Organised by a variety of well known promoters, the event mixes local talent with international renowned artists.
Amongst the local heroes set to rule the roost are Comanechi, while Southend mob These New Puritans will make the short journey. Indie poppers Veronica Falls are due to perform, with their single ‘Beachy Head’ already a firm favourite on the ClashMusic stereo.
Continually striving to add new acts, organisers have confirmed an appearance from Canadian hardcore troupe Fucked Up. Expanding hardcore past any meagre notions of punk, the band are like a modern day Hawkwind with performances sometimes lasting for several hours.
A vital live experience, Fucked Up recently released a limited edition single in time for Record Store Day. Working on their new album, the Canadian band will stop by 1234 Festival for a very special performance.
Joining them among the new additions are Best Coast, Rolo Tomassi and American fuzz poppers Dum Dum Girls. Spearheading a new wave of Stateside indie pop, the group’s recent debut album was a stunning release.
Ever outspoken organiser Sean McLusky commented: “The 1234 presents a program that always includes ‘heard them here first’ bands plus a good chunk of ‘will never hear of again’ but always vastly entertaining whatever happens.”
“We are not interested in peoples careers, booking agents and record label schedules, we are interested in the sheer audacity and bluster of the Rock & Roll beast, presenting it in a truthful and raw situation, then witnessing the unstoppable scene this creates.”
1234 Festival takes place on July 24th.
