In cinemas now, ‘Youth In Revolt’ stars Micheal Cera and Portia Doubleday. Directed by Miguel Arteta, it concerns an awkward teenager’s inventive solution to impress the girl of his dreams.
Based on the book of the same name by C.D. Payne, Micheal Cera stars as Nick Twisp, a trailerpark teenager in love with Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday), Nick’s dream girl. The film also sees Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi, Justin Long and Ray Liotta appear in supporting roles.
Living in a trailerpark with his mum and her dead-beat lover, Nick has fallen in love with Sheeni and has decided that he’ll do everything within his power to make her love him back. The only real obstacles in his path to victory are Sheeni’s poetry writing ex-boyfriend, Nick’s tempramental, trashy, divorced parents and his mum’s boyfriend. Taking on a new persona in order to woe Sheeni after she makes it clear to him that she isn’t interested, Nick’s newly created alter ego, Francois Dillinger, is a classic bad boy with attitude and a rather nifty moustache.
