'The Poster Came From The Walls' fan study

A new film, ‘The Poster Came From The Walls’, highlights the extraordinary lengths fans of Depeche Mode go to to listen to their idols.

Outside of their success in the UK and USA, Depeche Mode have long attracted fans in further flung territories including Iran and Russia where fans have long risked persecution in listening to the Basildon band.

The film, by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller and filmmaker Nicholas Abrahams, tells the story of these fans as well as the Cambridge church which holds services where Depeche Mode records are aired.

There are special screenings of ‘The Poster Came From The Walls’ around the UK on 1st December, including a Q&A with the filmmakers at the Clapham Picture House showing.
